Example:
When you
log on to your bank account using your card number and PIN. After completing
a few transactions or just viewing your account, you log off. You assume
this precious information is gone until you log on again. Not so! Most
spy ware lies in wait on your system for the opportunity to capture
and forward it back to the bad guys. You may ask, "How
did that spy ware program get on my computer in the first place."
Many e-mails and web sites place spy ware on your computer without your
knowledge or permission. You can not even see it happening. Chances are
very likely that spy ware programs are running on your computer right
now, despite your best efforts to eliminate them.
How it works? Your computer uses cache memory to hold
sign on
& personal information &
startup programs that are frequently used or recently requested. It reduces
the time it takes complete a request for a web page, sign on or have
your favorite programs appear vr's using your slower hard disk.
Your network services use cache to improve performance to deliver a web
page to you faster, such as the resolving a site using Domain Name System
(web site address book).
Solution: Put your concerns to rest that this highly
sensitive information is readily available by clearing your cache after
each interaction. This will help to guard against intrusive programs
that can steal this information located in cache memory. It can occur
when you are using a browser without your knowledge. It is an invasion
of your personal privacy and leads to identity thief.
For most users, the change is insignificant though you may have to re-enter
your sign in information each time you visit a particular site. We feel
the wait and inconvenience is worth well it, in terms of reducing your
exposure to cache robbing.
A quality spyware, privacy or cleansing software can clear your cache
automatically- see side bar for more details. Let the professionals chase
the bad guys for you. Make sure you receive the updates as soon as they
are available. We clear our cache manually after every log in to our
bank accounts as an extra precaution- as follows:

This action will get rid of most web pages, image and media files you
have viewed since the last time you used "Delete Browsing History".
It cleans cookies, history and form data too which can build up, slow
your browser
& expose your surfing habits & personal information. It is good
idea to close and re-start your browser to clear data sitting in memory,
too.
Internet Explorer 8
Open your browser> Click on Tools> Delete Browsing History. Check mark all items except Preserve Favorites... and Passwords. Yes, it takes a few moments to delete all of this info. And yes, it means having to enter the info next time you want to enter your banking site, etc. but keeps your most important info much safer.
Close down your browser and re-start it.
We are still trying to ascertain how effective this MS program is. On the outside, IE8 looks more comprehensive but file sizes are increasing. We still suggest a professional cleansing program to eliminate, encrypt and destroy these files or a Internet Security program that includes an Identity Safe feature for confidentiality purposes. It includes a new protection called SmartScreen. The anti-phishing/anti-malware URL filtering program is built into the browser. It can block known bad sites and helps protect users.

Cache robbing can been done within your organization at the server and
